He’s got every reason to be cocky . . . until a female cuts him down to size.
I’m Dallas Easton, the best goaltender in the league. I make a damn good living playing hockey, and with women falling at my feet wherever I go, why not enjoy it? I get whatever I want, whenever I want—that is, until I come across the one player who gets the best of me on the ice.
When I try to pummel the dude, all hell breaks loose. Imagine my surprise when the helmet comes off to reveal a woman underneath. And not just any woman, but the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen. Callie Davis is the complete opposite of the puck bunnies I usually go for, a good girl with sick moves and a selfless streak a mile wide. I need to make amends, but she dodges me at every turn. It doesn’t help that Callie’s brother hates my guts, or that my agent thinks she’s bad for my career.
But I could care less what they think. I can’t let our little run-in on the ice be the end of our story. Because when I set my sights on something, I won’t rest until I score.
Dallas is the regular hockey bad boy. The Charlotte Striker’s goalie is arrogant, hot tempered, and he assumes he’s God’s gift to women. With encouragement from his agent, Dallas signs up to be on a reality show like The Bachelor. How can his life get any better?
Dallas thinks women should fall at his feet, however he got his butt kicked at a party because he was hooking up with someone else’s girlfriend. Full disclosure- He didn’t know she had a boyfriend. He assumed she was a puck bunny. Callie’s a nurse, so she jumped in and saved the day. She didn’t realize the man she’s saving is her soulmate. Dallas thinks she’s his angel.
Callie is new to Charlotte. Her brother is a newbie on the championship Charlotte Strikers. Her brothers are overprotective, but Callie can hold her own. She knocks Dallas down a few notches when she kicks his butt in a hockey game. Callie handles Dallas’ ego like cake. She gives him a few “tasks” before she agrees to a date. Did I mention the tasks are humiliating? Oh yes, his team have serious blackmail material.
Callie’s overprotective brother Justin warns her to stay away from Dallas, but Callie’s a big girl. She trusts him, but she doesn’t want to be seen as the girl
who tamed The Charlotte Striker’s bad boy. Dallas convinces her he wants to change. Under the giant ego and hot temper, Callie finds out Dallas is a good guy. Must to Justin’s horror, Callie continues to see Dallas and dives right off the cliff into the love pond.
Tabloid photographers follow the lovebirds. Hang on! They don’t ride into the sunset yet!! The tabloids almost crush the couple like an aluminum can when they publish a fictitious story about Dallas! One substantial truth was in the story—the reality show. (Dallas conveniently forgot to tell Callie about it) Dallas orders his agent to get him out of it, but his agent is a self serving bastard.
